April 2006 Highlights:

WiRED International welcomes two new members to the
    Board of Directors

WiRED International's Board of Directors is pleased to announce the addition of two distinguished and influential representatives who will help further WiRED's quest in providing developing nations with healthcare information and education through the use of technology.

Senator William E. Brock and Mr. Sheldon S. Cohen, Esq., have both offered their services at a time when their expertise in international affairs and development is of great value to present-day war-torn countries, post-conflict regions and developing nations that are struggling to provide viable healthcare systems for their citizens. WiRED's services are an invaluable resource to medical personnel in these environments who may not otherwise have access to up-to-date information while working under adverse conditions.

Senator Brock and Mr. Cohen have both served as representatives of the U.S. government in various significant capacities.

    Senator William E. Brock
A former member of the United States Senate, Senator Brock served in Ronald Regan's Cabinet as the U.S. Trade Representative from 1981 to 1985, acting as the President's chief trade policy adviser and international trade negotiator. His initiatives included the Caribbean Basin Initiative and the U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement. He began the talks that led to the U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement and the Uruguay Round trade of negotiations, taking the lead to insure that the Uruguay negotiations encompass the new issues of service, intellectual property and investment. He is founder and senior partner of The Brock Offices, a consulting firm specializing in international trade, investment and human resources.

    Mr. Sheldon S. Cohen, Esq.
Mr. Cohen is the youngest person ever to serve as Chief Counsel and later Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, positions he held for five years starting at age 37. Furthermore, his accomplishments span more than fifty years as a Washington, D.C. tax attorney. He currently is a senior partner of Cohen & Goldstein, Esqs., LLP., advising clients on family and matrimonial law matters, as well as commercial and business organization and transactions. Mr. Cohen is also general counsel to both domestic and foreign small businesses.
