All of us at WiRED International would like to wish happy holidays to everyone who is part of the WiRED family and all of our readers, especially those working and living in the most challenging environments.
Because of the Trump administration’s elimination of global health aid to low-resource countries, 2025 will go down as WiRED’s most challenging year to date — a challenge that continues in the year ahead. This is a challenge to which each of WiRED’s volunteers has responded rigorously with all our resources.

In response to this unprecedented health crisis, WiRED acted early in in the year, and by year’s end, we:
- added dozens of new training modules and animations;
- quadrupled our Community Health Worker (CHW) training program;
- expanded our required and WHO-compliant Continuing Medical Education (CME) program;
- developed a feature-filled app that allows CHWs anywhere to download educational health tools and maintain their CME requirements; and
- created a One Health Training Program.
WiRED extends a special holiday shoutout to our remarkable volunteers and partners around the world. Our work would not be possible without this talented and dedicated network of people. Like all of us who volunteer at WiRED, our fellow workers donate their time and talents, and they often go without recognition for their selfless humanitarian work.
In addition, we thank our Governing Board and Advisory Board for their guidance and financial support.
As we enter our 29th year of operation we are dedicated to providing health training programs free of charge to communities around the world and to deliver our content faster than ever through our updated HealthMAP app.
May you and your loved ones have a safe and enjoyable holiday season! While we celebrate the work we have accomplished together in 2025, we all might keep in mind the many underserved populations that face disease and starvation every day in a world of increasing uncertainty from climate change, food insecurity and conflict — and now the prospect of facing this world without vaccines and medicine. With your support in the year ahead, WiRED will strive to deepen and widen our efforts to help as many of these communities as we can, especially through our CHWs who teach preventive measures to protect their population’s health.

There is still time
to donate to WiRED!
Because of the global health crisis in underserved countries, WiRED needs your support more than ever in order to continue our ever-expanding mission.
Ours is truly a global effort from CHWs, local ministries of health, health professionals and educators to help provide people in low-resource regions with the knowledge and skills to improve their own health.
For the last 28 years WiRED has used your donations wisely with 95% of our funds going directly to our programs. With your help we will not only continue to provide vital medical information without cost to low-resource regions globally but look for creative ways to ramp up our programs in order to train a larger and ever-important corps of CHWs in the world’s most underserved communities.Â
