Help WiRED International Save Lives from U.S. Cuts to Global Health Aid

A July 2025 Lancet study projects more than 14 million additional avoidable deaths by 2030, with 4.5 million among children under age five, with the continued dismantling of USAID programs. With dedicated volunteers and years of experience, WiRED International is in a position to use education as a partial antidote to the virulent policies of this administration. We are quickly running through our small reserves and are encouraging people to contribute to enable us to sustain and increase our efforts.

Low-resource countries are facing empty shelves of life-saving medicines and vaccines due to global health aid cuts. These cuts will result in millions of preventable deaths, especially for children, reverse years of progress against diseases such as HIV, malaria and tuberculosis and damage already fragile healthcare infrastructures.

Because of the global emergency created by the Trump Administration, WiRED International has ramped up our community health worker (CHW) training classes and added more than two dozen new health education modules and animations with which to teach local communities. Our volunteer organization needs your help!

Your contribution will enable us to:

  • Train more people to become CHWs;
  • Develop advanced CHW training;
  • Create innovative technology tools;
  • Launch a mental health series;
  • Expand our continuing medical education into new regions;
  • Produce training animations to prepare communities for infectious disease outbreaks;
  • Form partnerships with academic institutions and health ministries; and
  • Release new modules into our library of health modules.

WiRED has no fundraising costs and spends only 5% on required management and administration. Fully 95% of donations go directly into these enhanced training programs in underserved areas of the world. Note that WiRED programs are free of charge and accessible to all.

WiRED’s New Programs in More Detail
  • Training More Community Health Workers (CHWs): We are boosting our commitment and support to increase the number of basic CHW training classes in vulnerable regions.
  • Developing Advanced Training: We are creating a 15-module Advanced CHW Training program that will elevate CHW preparedness to a new level, open to all certified CHWs worldwide.
  • Creating Innovative Technology Tools: WiRED is constantly looking for new and unique ways of using technology to make our programs more accessible, such as HealthMAP app for both Android and iPhone.
  • Launching a Mental Health Series: Recognizing the serious physical and mental impact of funding cuts, this seven-part series is specifically designed for CHWs to utilize in their outreach efforts.
  • Expanding Our Continuing Medical Education (CME): We are inviting all CHWs globally to enroll in our expanded CME program. Our HealthMAP app delivers CME programs directly to CHWs everywhere, regardless of where they received training.
  • Producing Training Animations: These animations for children and families will prepare communities for infectious disease outbreaks. We have already released one animation on Infectious Disease Basics. Our team is now producing six more.
  • Forming Partnerships with Academic Institutions and Health Ministries: A recent example is a collaboration with Tom Mboya University in Kenya to conduct CHW training.
  • Releasing New Modules: WiRED adds new courses to our library of health modules, especially for emerging disease outbreaks and special requests from communities facing serious health issues.
